Finally 26 sailors of the ship ‘Prosperity of Bengal’ stranded in Ukraine are returning home. He is scheduled to reach Bangladesh in the afternoon on Wednesday (March 9).
They will leave Romania on a special plane on Tuesday night and return home via Istanbul, Turkey. However, the body of Hadisur Rahman is not being brought. His body has been frozen in Ukraine. Which will be brought later. Earlier, six sailors had reached Romania from Ukraine on 8 March.
Significantly, Bangladeshi ship ‘MV Bangla Samridhi’ arrived in Ukraine’s Alaviya port waters on February 22 last year to transport ceramic raw material ‘Clay’. However, the ship was instructed to return as soon as possible without loading the cargo by shipping corporation officials to avoid a war situation. However, the Bangladeshi ship could not come out of Ukrainian waters as the pilot of the port could not be found at the last minute.
Later, on 2 March, at around 9:30 pm Bangladesh time, the ship was stuck in a Ukrainian port. The ship’s third engineer died. Hadisur Rahman. Sailors stranded on the ship since the attack started posting video messages on social media urging them to protect themselves.
