The Czech Republic has awarded Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky his highest state honor for his outstanding bravery in the face of aggression from neighboring Russia. Zelensky is also set to receive the prestigious Ronald Reagan Freedom Award. News from Fox News.
Czech President Milos Zeman made this announcement on Monday (March 6th). The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation also confirmed the Ronald Reagan Freedom Award in a statement.
Czech President Milos Zeman is considered close to Russia since taking power in 2013. He personally has a very good relationship with President Putin. Putin’s friend and ally announced the award of the highest state medal to Zelensky at a time when Russia was invading Ukraine. However, President Milos Zeman has been vocal in his criticism of Putin since the start of Russia’s campaign in Ukraine. He also called Putin ‘crazy’ in the media.
It is learned that on Monday (March 6) President Milos attended the highest state awards ceremony in the capital Prague.
Praising Zelensky, the Czech president said that Zelensky had shown valor and courage from the very beginning of the war. The United States wanted to expel him, but he remained in Kyiv. They did not leave the country, but from the country they are working heroically against the Russian army.
Meanwhile, Fred Ryan, president of The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation, said in a statement that the indomitable spirit he has shown for freedom and democracy is remarkable.
